Chancellor of Germany

The head of government of Germany is called Chancellor (German: Kanzler). In German politics the position is somewhat equivalent to that of a Prime Minister in other countries. At various points in time, the full term has been Imperial Chancellor (Reichskanzler) or Federal Chancellor (Bundeskanzler). The latter term is current. Although it is sometimes thought, the Chancallor is not Germany's head of state, which is the President of Germany.
